Andy Baker's music has been described as a warm ladel of acoustic folk pop, richly flavored with velvety poetry, and topped of with a dash of humor.

An engaging and dynamic live performer, Andy deflty mixes songs and stories that sweep from thought provoking to clever to laugh out loud funny, all played on a popourri of instruments including guitar, synth guitar, dobro, bass, bouzouki, and even banjo. There is an ease about his stage persona that reflects his many years not only as a veteran performer but also as a host of a theater concert series in his home town. His stories and adlibs between songs are as memorable as the songs themselves.

A crowd favorite "Clown in my Jalopy", based on his favorite childhood toy, features Andy playing bass with his left hand, shaker with his right, drumming with his foot, and singing with...well, anything that's left!

His audience members have characterized his music as lively, accessable, thoughtful, honest, and enriching.

In 2008, the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest handed awards to 4 out of 10 songs on his latest studio album "Down" (out of over 600 entries!)

Chip Winthrow of musesmuse.com calls "Down" a "folk/rock gem..."
